The highways include North-South Expressway ; KESAS Expressway; Kajang SILK Highway; and Butterworth Ring Road.
The Works Ministry in a statement said this was a move towards the Multi-Lane Free-Flow system along the highways to improve the quality of toll payment service in the future. “The RFID test run at selected toll plazas since 2018 had received positive response with RFID users exceeding 830,000,” the ministry said.
RFID is expected to enable smoother traffic flow at toll plazas as motorists no longer have to stop to touch their card on the “reader” and there is no extra cost as no battery is used. The RFID system uses a sticker which is connected to the Touch ‘n Go e-wallet, allowing motorists to top up the value online without having to go to a customer service centre or a top-up centre.Article type: free
Have very bad experience with this RFID, most of the time, the reader couldn't detect my codes and I have to reverse my car, sometimes a bit luckier, the barrier lifted up but in other occasions I went to tag lane. Not only me but many others.
