Officers attached to a Wexford unit stationed themselves at the White Mountain site after reports were made of quad bikes, scramblers and illegally parked cars causing obstructions.A Garda statement read: "Gardaí from New Ross conducted a number of checkpoints at White Mountain this morning.
"Gardaí were responding to reports of an increase in quad and scrambler use in the area. Gardaí also patrolled areas where reports of cars being parked causing obstruction for residents and potentially restricting access for the emergency services.In 2021, gardai in Dublin were given additional powers to seize "intimidating" scrambler and quad bikes on the spot after 62 people were injured on the vehicles during 2020.And they are now being enforced.
