The recalls from the two Korean automakers are another in a long string of fire and engine failure problems that have dogged the companies for the past six years.
Dealers will replace a fuse. In addition, Hyundai dealers will inspect the control modules and replace them if needed. Hyundai owners will be notified starting April 5. Kia expects to mail letters starting March 31. The first recall from the companies related to engine failures and fires reaches all the way back to September 2015. Since then it has issued at least eight more recalls for a host of engine problems, according to NHTSA documents.
In November of 2020, NHTSA announced that Kia and Hyundai must pay $137 million in fines and for safety improvements because they moved too slowly to recall more than 1 million vehicles with engines that can fail. The fines resolved a previous probe into the companies' behavior involving recalls of multiple models dating to the 2011 model year.
Never Hyundai again 4 a/c pumps under 50k miles still hardly worked so traded it in
BuyAmerican
This is why I stick with Honda.
WTF!?!? So we bought ticking time bombs!?!? Refunds Recalls BuyBacks 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🚫
Wonderful news. Don't own Kia or Hyndai but they have to have known prior. Just to a huge chance. Although, I did buy a Santa Fe 2004 with high miles for my daughter to commute to school for a bit Like a tank. She crashed it. Took a beat and saved her life.
Not good. Hope this is fixed soon. We need electric vehicles!
Ours is a LEMON, my mothers is a LEMON! We’d like to join a class action. We still owe $,and it’s engine has blown up twice, my 89 year old mother is paying $13,000 to get her Hyundai fixed - our Kia will be $18,000!!
Wow!
Better buy German however it did make me laugh …. Does your insurance cover this?

Oh, good news!
Trying too hard to copy tesla
American cars had these same.problems a few years ago. So don't blame the Korean auto makers. American cars have been shit too
Hyundai Kia Korean made vehicles are junk. The reliability and quality is crap. Ask why you rarely see older Kia or Hyundai vehicles on the road. Because they don't seem to last. Buy German or higher end Japanese vehicles for reliability.
That’s why those beans are so cheap.
bruh
Then peoples r buy such type of car
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well, that's comforting...😳
I love my Santa Fe's. 2nd one & the first one is a 2005 & still a champ! Mine 2016 sport doesn't fall into the year category.
Be American, buy American. Tesla , GM and Ford
I'll take kia and hunday over any American car manufacturers any day.
This instruction was clearly in the owners booklet. They are outdoor only cars.
Lol that's what dealerships get for overpricing their vehicles and taking advantage of people .
Just buy japanese, or go toyota
Quit supporting Japan and China.
😳
Hyundai in general is a crapy company. Their engines are the worst and then Hyundai leaves customers stranded with multithousand dollar repair jobs and dangerous faulty engines!!! It's inexcusable! Wish we knew better before buying their expensive paper weight
As they said, there are German cars and the rest…
That’s why you stick with Toyota.
🎶 🎵 Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts! Canyonero! Canyonero! 🎵 🎶
