In five to 10 years, ultra fast-charging EV batteries might be possible, but there are still science and engineering challenges to overcome before they are both technically feasible and affordable

In a solid state design, lithium metal batteries should in theory be able to charge up very quickly. In practice, though, they too are prone to forming dendrites, causing them to fail quickly, especially at high charge speeds. Fast-charging lithium metal batteries would be the Holy Grail of high performance EVs batteries, but they are “still a work in progress,” Buettner-Garrett says.

several different layers of materials in the electrode to arrest lithium dendrite growth. In the journalthat could be charged in just three minutes, while retaining more than 80 percent of its capacity after 10,000 cycles. Li says that a commercial version of this battery may be possible in about five years “if everything goes right.”

“There is another layer of consideration on the infrastructure,” Li says. “We have to see how much current the entire system can support.”

battery technology has never kept up with engine technology, they are still as useless as they were 100 years ago, its HYDROGEN is the future and not electric,

The obvious solution is quick battery exchange at service stations. Charges based upon charge left in old battery. This would allow 100 mile batteries to be used in long haul only stopping every 80 or so miles for a 2 minute battery exchange. Keeps service stations open!

Lololol

Impossible. When millions of cars connect to the grid it'll collapse, the grid can't handle that. Building the capacity is going to cost trillions.

I saw somewhere that a guy invented a car that runs on air ... heck even Hydrogen is better than electic cars, thoigh I realize there are some issues with that too

No. But you should try hydrogen cars.

Still better to wait for a charge than watch gas prices roll on supply issues.

No false expectations, build the grid first. One capable of convenient charging at home. Think Nuclear!

Two issues: the cost of electric cars, and the demand pressure on the hydroelectric and solar/wind supplies / suppliers.
