The Philippines is now one of the biggest markets for Chinese made vehicles in the world. This is according to the latest report coming from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The Group which counts BYD, Changan, Chery, Geely, and Great Wall as members reports that vehicle exports last January are up 88 percent from a year earlier to 231,000 units. Passenger vehicle exports surged 95 percent to around 185,000, while commercial vehicles advanced 65 percent to roughly 46,000.
Among the exported passenger and commercial vehicles, some 56,000 were electrified vehicles including full electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, soaring 540 percent from a year earlier.In 2021, China’s vehicle exports nearly doubled from a year earlier to top 2 million. Last year, some 1.61 million passenger vehicles and 402,000 commercial vehicles were shipped overseas, jumping 110 percent and 71 percent from 2020, respectively.In 2021, the ten largest markets for China’s vehicle exports:
