Published March 12, 2022A 21-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly running down a 58-year-old woman walking her dog – then slamming into two other vehicles in the Bronx.The driver plowed into a tree before hitting the woman and her dog, dragging the victim a distance before backing out of the park, police say.
Upon exiting the park, police say the driver struck two parked cars near Clay Avenue and East 170th Street. Police say the driver tried to flee on foot before he was chased down by officers and arrested. He's facing charges of assault, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and criminal possession of stolen property.The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital where police say she was stable and being treated for"severe trauma to her head and torso."
