TxDOT Public Information Officer Danny Perez said the closure was due to an issue with the I-45 North Freeway southbound frontage road bridge over Cypress Creek.Cypress Creek Flooding Task Force seeking matching funds to build detention ponds This closure was initially not known to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Precinct 4 Constable Mark Hermann said, until they started getting hundreds of calls about it.

Hermann said he encouraged TxDOT to do more than just barricading the bridge to inform drivers about the service road closure.
