With another carbon tax hike making gas exorbitant, we need look at all power sources to plug in our future electrical cars and tractors.

The problem, however, is the discussion has quickly morphed into a complicated issue on finding the most effective, cost-efficient and immediate solution.

Increased natural gas generation, buying hydro-generated power from Manitoba and simply finding more generation and distribution efficiencies at SaskPower are also in the mix.including the once-forbidden nuclear option … or at least, the nuclear option in the form ofThis week, SaskPower Minister Don Morgan and his counterparts in Ontario, New Brunswick and Alberta outlined a plan that could result in the province’s first SMR becoming operational by 2034 with as many as three more to come later.

New Democratic critic Aleana Young, for example, suggested SMRs have to be explored … although she hinted not everyone in her party might share that view.
