GAC Motor Philippines wants to be taken seriously, and with that, previewed the EMPOW55. The striking sports compact is intended to cater to a younger generation seeking an adrenaline rush in every day driving.
The GPMA platform allows the EMPOW55 to have a low center of gravity that contributes to better handling. And with a drag coefficient of just 0.26, it is capable of achieving lower fuel consumption thanks to better aerodynamics. Powering the EMPOW55 is a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine capable of producing 175 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed wet-type dual clutch automatic, the century km/h sprint is done in just 6.95 seconds. It also has changeable driving modes that customize functions such as the climate control, acceleration pedal behavior, power delivery, ambient lighting, exhaust system, and stability control engagement.
