Government has to STOP giving corporations millions of taxpayer dollars.

And...how will the electric grid handle the demand, oh...and what do we do with a million dead lithium batteries contaminating the environment, in 10 years! Typical Liberal solution.

Considering inventory is pathetically low it’s useless

What about people who do not own any car, shouldn’t they be rewarded too

So in some provinces instead of petrol they will burn coal or LNG. Add that to the horrific environment cost of the lithium mining and you have a fleet of vehicles that exponentially worse than their petrol cousins

The truck in the picture wouldn’t qualify!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The official residence of the PM should be Stornaway, and there should not be an official, tax payer funded, residence for the leader of the Opposition.

$5k is laughable

Bravo .. incentives to purchase electric.. now create incentives not to purchase ICE.. ClimateCrisis

GeraldKutney Wait......so no tax on trucks, but rebates?

Instead of covering more expensive vehicles, should pay more to the less expensive ones. I'd buy a plug in hybrid or EV if cost the same as a gas one.

This is where my taxes will go, to help some poor homeless person buy a $70,000 car to live in ? Think about what this sarcasm really means !

So hyped to get an EV truck!

A little too late with interest rates rising!!!

This is a bad idea unless this are vehicle specifically used by farmers or tradespeople. We don't need to subsidize ego truck. There should also be a limit on how high the front end of said vehicles can be.

How about instead of subsidising the PMC's favourite toys, the government gives us some consumer rights legislation to address the real problems with EVs, like a right to repair?

Conservatives won't like that. Why don't they come out with a vehicles with a mini nuclear reactor to meet conservatives half way? They love nuclear power more than their own children.

And also will include rebates for eBikes... Right? right?

So rebates for the upper 20%…way to encourage change. More proof the government does not care. You NEED to re- include ALL hybrid electric vehicles to make REAL change

Want to make it worthwhile? Offer a free trade in program!

Kickbacks for their wealthy friends. More Liberal grift.

I wish they'd work even HARDER at getting quantities of refueling stations up&running reliably Encouraging 1000s of EVs isn't the sticking point. Troublesome refueling IS a problem. Focus on swift, reliable available recharging in safe areas to refuel. Dark Isolated Vulnerable

Positive feedback loops in the climate system are running away. Melting permafrost releasing massive amounts of Methane 25x worse than CO2. Ad to that Russia, China, India, Brazil and the 3rd world inaction and we will see that there is nothing we can do.
