reports that Casperson rammed no less than eight police cruisers during the chase, causing damage totaling around $135,000. The pursuit only came to an end when the 25-year-old hit several cruisers on Route 111 and flipped the Hummer before slamming into a utility pole. She attempted to flee the crash on foot but was quickly apprehended and taken to hospital with a broken femur and a dislocated hip.
Seven officers involved in the chase were treated with minor injuries, including contusions and strained backs from the various crashes. “This is a terrible situation that we just had to deal with,” Waterburg Police chief Fernando Spagnolo toldthe day after Casperson was arrested. “I think that all the officers involved did a spectacular job.”
