BMW customers in South Korea and the United Kingdom can pay a monthly subscription to activate the already-installed heated seats in their vehicles.

It can be easily hacked

Good opportunity for Mercedes and Audi to capitalize on.

We need to all boycott BMW, before other car manufacturers start this nonsense.

Braising greedy creatures grabbing every nickle they can squeeze from unsuspecting customers !

Ridiculous and greedy

Never going to purchase a BMW

Or, you can just buy it as an option outright and then there is no subbscription fee.

Mercedes does not charge a fee for this. I know because I drive one, and I’ll keep doing so!

Jeez, just don't install the heated seats then

Brand loyalty like company loyalty is no longer there. People will switch jobs and products based on what they see either as the best value or most prestige. Other companies will make this BMW’s soft spot and hammer them for it.

By pass the option, by pass suscription

Just one more reason not to buy a BMW.

That's disgusting

Sounds like satire from the former CBC radio show This and That!

You will own nothing and be happy. I'll tell you I won't be owning a BMW or any car that charges monthly for any features. Do I rent the airbags next? Maybe the wiper blades or seat belts will come with extra charges too!

Subscription? Only if they, in turn, pay my monthly advertising fee for driving their car around in public with its logo and name. Anybody asks for info about the car I’m driving, that’s an additional consultancy fee. Which I’ll offer them as a subscription.

Did we need another reason not to buy BMW?!

Brakes will be next.

corporategreed

So I have to pay for the gas to cart your optional packages around fuck that

Should be illegal

People will find a way to hack into their BMW and bypass this nonsense

We seriously need to fine these companies triple the cost for such asinine 'business' practices. It's downright theft.

Not ever happening

bye bye BMW, not going to consider your cars if this is your business model.

Thanks BMW, you just shortened my list of vehicles to research. Time and effort saved.

Are you implying the SK BMW customers are as foolish as the ones in UK?

Oh, lucky them! 😂

Wait till they do this with a/c.

'People quickly adapt to the increased level of comfort … I suspect it will become much harder to stop this subscription, much harder to adapt to a lower level of comfort...' I am so glad that I was not born with this trait.

Wonderful. Another example of CorporateGreed driving inflation.

Money grab

This is fucking stupid. The only concern these companies have is return to shareholders and executive bonuses. Customers don't matter.

The government could deactivate your car just like they freeze your bank account?

The Great Reset, you will own nothing and you will be happy. They however will own everything ! You pay $$$ subscriptions for EVERYTHING.

🤣 Like in app purchases, you buy something, but then you gotta buy more to use it.

This is absurd

Seriously?

First thing I'd do if I wasted money on a Beamer is find a way to unlock that.

HAHA, hackers do your thing...

Come again?

😱😅
