FG: Petrol subsidy still in place… price increase from marketers | TheCable

The federal government says it has not raised the pump price of premium motor spirit , also called petrol, above the regulated price.

While the regulated pump price of the product is N165 a litre, some filling stations have been selling as high as N180 a litre.to N2.6 trillion in the first half of 2022 — above crude oil sale receipts from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited.“Well, I can tell you authoritatively that we have not deregulated. The government is still subsidising, if there are increases in the price, it is not from the government, it is probably from the marketers,” he said.
