Fancy a ‘vegan’ Ferrari? Or a Cadillac built to your specifications? In the luxury car sector, brands are catering to a growing demand for personalisation.

Ferrari’s F8 Tributo can be ordered with Rosso Fuoco exterior paint. It’s a hue not vastly different from the Rosso Corso that most people associate with the brand.

Bespoke Bentley Bacalars. Bentley says of the 14,600 cars the company built last year, about 1500 went through the bespoke division. The most recent one-off of this variety is the SP51, a rebodied 812 GTS Spider, produced for a “special Ferrari client” and likely costing about $9 million. Ferrari provides an extreme example of one of the biggest trends in the luxury market: catering for ever more affluent customers with ever more personalisation.For owners who want to go beyond Ferrari’s already broad Personalisation program, it has set up a Tailor Made studio in its corporate home town of Maranello and others in New York and Shanghai. Under the Tailor Made program, buyers can work with Ferrari designers to finalise their specification.

The Ferrari SP51, a rebodied 812 GTS Spider, produced for a ‘special Ferrari client’ and likely costing about $9 million. At Rolls-Royce, which produces far fewer cars than Bentley , the proportion is higher again. Up to 80 per cent use the company’s Bespoke division.
