A Houston area automotive company's foundation and Lone Star College are teaming up to provide resources for students who are aging out of the foster care system.

Lone Star College is partnering with Petra Cares to provide students exiting the foster system free education and job placement in the future.Lone Star College plans to give their students who were in the foster system a leg up, partnering with Petra Cares to give them a chance to start a career after they turn 18.

Petra Cares was founded by Petra Automotive, an automotive products company based in Cypress.“Lone Star College is excited to work with Petra Cares on this great opportunity to help students exiting the foster system learn a trade and find a rewarding career,” Connor O’Sullivan, LSC continuing education executive director, said in a statement.
