NEW: A woman has died following a serious crash involving two cars in Foxboro, Massachusetts, that temporarily closed part of Route 140 in both directions Saturday evening, officials announced.

The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office says Olga Perry died in the crash that occurred just before 6 p.m. in the area of 192 Main Street.

Citing a preliminary investigation, the DA's office says the 88-year-old Foxboro resident was driving a Toyota Corolla when she crossed the center line, striking a Hyundai Santa Fe.Get New England news, weather forecasts and entertainment stories to your inbox.Officials did not say why they believe Perry veered into oncoming traffic. According to the DA's office, it has not been determined whether or not she suffered a medical emergency prior to the collision.

The driver of the Santa Fe, who was wearing a seatbelt, did not need transported to a local hospital, the DA said. Their name has not been released.
