Convicted murderer on most wanted list arrested on M1

A convicted murderer - described as one of the most wanted offenders by the National Crime Agency - has been arrested for multiple offences abroad. Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stopped a vehicle at junction 29A of the M1 after an ANRP check led officers to believe it may contain a wanted man.

A tweet posted by the unit yesterday said: "ANPR led stop check of this vehicle due to possibly containing a wanted male. What an understatement that was!
