The extra sailings come as crews anticipate an excess of 680,000 passengers and 270,000 vehicles to travel via ferry over the holiday season.

BC Ferries is looking to beat the holiday rush.

One-hundred-and-ten extra sailings are being added on the Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay route, while 35 sailings are being added between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay and six are being added between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale . “Typically, the most popular travel time over the holidays before Christmas Day is Dec. 23 for traffic moving from the Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay terminals to Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast,” BC Ferries said.
