Accused also urinated in police vehicles, court told

A man has admitted urinating over a medical kit bag as he was being treated for a head injury by paramedics in an ambulance, a court heard on Monday.

Paul Farren, 32 and from Duncreggan Road in Derry, admitted causing criminal damage to the kit bag by urinating over it. He also admitted a second charge of criminal damage by urinating inside a police car as officers drove him to Altnagelvin Hospital and he additionally admitted a charge of disorderly behaviour by acting aggressively towards the ambulance paramedics.

The police arrested Farren and as they drove him to Altnagelvin Hospital he stood up in the rear of the police vehicle and urinated. The officer said given Farren’s criminal record, which included 26 breaches of court bail, he had absolutely no confidence Farren would adhere to any court imposed bail conditions.
