Banning electric vehicles—or posturing about wanting to—is a political stunt in an era already overstuffed with them.

First things first: this is just a proposed bill, and even if it's adopted, it would not be an actual ban on electric-vehicle sales in Wyoming.

We agree that different regions of the country are positioned in different ways when it comes to EV adoption, but we see through the legislators' intent with this bill because they added a line that says that, should the bill be adopted, a copy will be sent to the governor of California. Why might that be?

I love watching the stupid knee jerk bans liberals and conservatives shoot at eachother, true entertainment

Car companies will stop making ICE cars after 2035, the exact same year Wyoming GOP politicians propose to end EV sales. So what type of vehicles will they drive? Wood burning? Hydrogen? Horse and wagon? Flintstones car? 🤡

Damn!!

Isn’t Wyoming the number 1 coal producing state in the country? And don’t EVs run on coal power plants? QAnon is funny

Wyoming needs to stop electing people who have pudding for brains.

As if the young people of Wyoming needed another reason to leave. Shameful.

LoL

Seriously? Most auto makers will phase out combustion engines eventually…

Interstate commerce clause is a liberal policy, needs to go asap MAGA

ICE owners will need a safe state to migrate to. One where no one actually lives

Their bill makes no sense and does not do what the majority of regular Americans want. And basically that’s just to breathe clean air.

They’ll be riding bison.

JFC...Let people decide what they want to buy. This also goes for the stupid fucking bans on ICE vehicles. These politicians think they're more important than the really are, and that needs to change.

Why is Maxine Waters running down that highway?

Why not just let consumers decide This goes for bans on ICE-vehicles and EV's...

Cobalt mining is child labor intensive & dangerous. Massive mud pits. 15,000+ workers. Lithium mines destroy the environment. All the machinery is diesel, consuming thousands of gallons per day. EV’s have good use cases, but there are limitations. Heat/cold range loss is extreme!

Weird flex 💪 but OK!

They should also ban smart phones, and solar and wind energy. Let’s return to the 19th century.

The party that has the government tracking young womens’ menstrual cycles also wants to take your golf cart. They’re big into freedom and can’t understand why they keep losing elections.

Nobody was subsidizing built of gas stations, if something is convenient and profitable it just naturally get’s adopted

How dare they push back against prevailing liberal orthodoxy!

Wyoming politicians don’t like EVs

And that's no bull. It's a bison.

Thank you Wyoming

PLEASE ban EVs. Gas will always be better. Fuck EVs.

I know where I’m moving to 🫡

GregAbbott_TX RonDeSantisFL You guys listening?

im sorry, repeat that again?

EVs are such a small improvement over ICE vehicles for the environment, I don't mind the stunt. And that's if each vehicle actually makes it near 100k miles. Plug in hybrids make so much more sense and need so much less lithium and cobalt. And less fossil fuels. It's all ashame.

EVs shouldn't be banned, petroleum fueled vehicles either. Drive what you want.

Wyoming is now my favorite state

I support it and I hope more states follow. EVs are a money grab. Lithium mines destroy the ecosystem. Drilling is far more eco conscious.

Our leaders have lost the plot 🤪

Find your balls dudes. Im tired of hearing how great ev are. Its not true and you know it.

electric vehicles are a political stunt and you are participating with this polly stunting article you are no better

elonmusk no more Teslas in Wyoming, a 'Don't Tread on Me' state that has no issues on treading on other, this time you.

I don’t understand how a consumer product that runs on electricity can be so heavily politicized. Is our government really that stupid? It’s a car for crying out loud, let the people buy what they please.

So, in other words, no new vehicles will be sold in Wyoming after that date?

If they're banning EV's in Wyoming, at least that's how i understood this, is finally a step in s good direction.

What a waste of time, there are real problems these people could be working on.

Look, a C&D opinion piece posing as news

The replies to this

So is banning ICE's.

Wyoming for the WIN‼️

Wyoming Moves To Ban Sales Of New Electric Vehicles By 2035We examine the draft legislation in the state of Wyoming that proposes a ban on selling new electric vehicles in the state by 2035. Erm. Won’t that just mean people go out to neighbouring states and buy there and drive back, paying sales taxes in next state🤷‍♂️ next they’ll be after re instituting horse drawn carriages 😂 Sounds like Wyoming’s entry into the 2023 Darwin awards (political section) Almost all OEMs are planning to end production of ICE vehicles by 2040. Wyoming doesn’t think this will influence that direction. Most likely hoping other large oil centric states will adopt the same policy and get OEMs to reconsider their strategies
