.IvisonJ: Ottawa's sole-source deal for armoured vehicles for Ukraine raises questions via nationalpost

Daniel Minden, a spokesman for defence minister Anita Anand, said the request for the vehicles came from defence minister Reznikov. “Since Ukraine already owns a number of Senator APCs, an additional Canadian donation of the same vehicle type means no training or in-service support services are required,” he said.

CCC was then engaged to complete a financial, legal and integrity review as part of the due-diligence process. CCC also completed an integrity compliance assessment and an independent review of documents provided, such as financial statements and shareholder information. The results of the review were then passed on to DND, Abdillahi said.

That process would normally be handled by Public Services and Procurement Canada , as its name suggests.

IvisonJ nationalpost What we really need to know is why this government is not buying equipment, supplies, ammunition and parts for our own military. The Terradyne Ghurka, for example, is a very decent armoured truck that has a better fit with the Canadian military than the TAPV or the G-Wagon.

'National Post demands more bureaucracy and delays in procurement!' they’re doing as much as they can as quick as they can and the whole procurement process U want takes months sometimes a years. While people are dying in Ukraine you want to start yelling Criminal highly Suspicious. If we were at war we’d be dead or occupied by that standard. FO Its a war. There isnt time to drag our feet doing the “canadian military equipment procurement” dance. The Ukrainians need armoured vehicles, they get armoured vehicles. Its an urgent operational requirement.
