Parking lots across France will soon be covered with solar canopies under a new law passed earlier this month, prompting calls for Australia to follow suit.

In NSW, Liverpool Hospital, Leichhardt MarketPlace and Olympic Park have installed solar panels on car parks. South Australia, Queensland and Victoria have installed some too.
