Western Sydney residents should have “a voice” and be treated “fairly” after NSW Labor Leader Chris Minns announced Labor would delay metro projects in the region, says Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone.

The state Opposition Leader announced they would instead focus on metro projects connecting north and south Sydney.

“If he really wanted to look after the people of Sydney when it comes to tolls he would build this because it would get cars off the road through one of the most urbanised areas in Sydney,” Mr Carbone told Sky News Australia. “He’s playing politics and trying to drive the rail lines in the areas he wants to win which are the two marginal seats.
