Nissan is planning to accelerate the roll out of its Battery Electric Vehicles and e-Power models as part of its global electrification strategy., the Japanese carmaker will be rolling out more electrified vehicles than previously planned. Citing as their response to “changing consumer need and the business environment,” Nissan will now roll out 27 electrified models , including 19 full electric vehicles from now until 2030.

This move will result in an electrification mix across the Nissan and Infiniti brands to more than 55 percent globally—up from the previous 50 percent forecast. Nissan has also tweaked their projections for fiscal year 2026. Broken down by major market, this is how they see their electrified vehicle penetration by then, compared to their previous plans:Moreover, by fiscal year 2030, Nissan will become an all-electric brand in the United States.

This will increase the global sales mix of electrified vehicles from the planned 40 percent when the vision was announced to more than 44 percent by fiscal year 2026. To address rapid market changes in China, in 2024 Nissan plans to launch an EV designed specifically for the market. In Europe, Nissan will continue its robust electrification plans and will also explore stronger collaboration with their alliance with Renault.

Furthermore, Nissan intends to enhance customer experience through personalized services for a long-term engagement. Nissan will boost its Connected Car Service strategy from enriched on-board content to enabling on-demand functions to cater to diversifying customer needs. The company aims to achieve this through Software Defined Vehicles and is already demonstrated by e-architecture currently installed in the Nissan Ariya and will be available in more models in the coming years.
