The Comox Valley RCMP is looking for witnesses to help them piece together a string of crimes that unfolded over a 45-minute period, Feb. 27.

The first call came in around 6:15 p.m. Police received a call that an erratic driver had been spotted driving a pick-up truck in the 5300-block of Island Highway North.

Not long after, another call came in: this time a resident reporting a truck with the same description had clipped their mirror and then sped off, also on Island Highway North, near Smith Road. The calls continued, with two more residents reporting to police that a driver had crashed into their vehicles. One near the 2700-block, and another on the 6000-block of Island Highway North.

Eventually Mounties managed to catch up with the vehicle, just west of Headquarters Road and Merville Road in Courtenay, but the vehicle was abandoned.“We are looking for anyone who saw this pick-up truck in the area,” said Const.
