A police officer has been taken to hospital after two police cars were repeatedly rammed by stolen vehicles in an overnight incident in Townsville. One officer was taken to hospital with minor injuriesDetective Inspector Jason Shepherd alleged patrolling officers were "actively targeted" by three stolen cars, which were first spotted at Vincent around 1:15am.
Detective Inspector Shepherd said police were forced to withdraw to the Mundingburra Police Station to avoid further danger. He said police were now searching for the offenders."It's very unusual. As far as I'm aware, in recent times, it's probably only the second time that this has occurred," he said.
"Probably with three stolen vehicles and two police cars, they might have felt a bit more confident in that they were sort of outnumbering the police in that situation."Detective Inspector Shepherd said the officers had been left shaken by the incident."From watching the [dashcam] footage, I could safely say even though it was dangerous behaviour by the offenders … there was no incidents of head-on collisions or any of that sort of behaviour – it was more swerving and sideswiping.
Where is AnnastaciaMP When is she going to do her job? In any other workplace she’d be sacked for gross incompetence. I can barely sleep at night, pile things across my doors, scared to drive anywhere. Where is the woman paid big $ to protect Qlders
Who would have thought a bunch of kids could put the Palaszczuk govt on notice for being incompetent
Imagine the headlines in the USA for similar whereby officers are attacked with a lethal weapon (vehicle) and respond in kind with lethal force .Glad i don't live in these places

This is what happens in Australia, when there's one law after another that's deemed redundant. Criminals on the computer looking on how to exploit every law possible. This one's simple the teenager's are the new major gangland terrorist's.
Bring back hard cops that beat the shit out of fuckwits.
So Operation Uniform Cygnus was a roaring success then? I hope that they're in custody very soon, and obviously they'll be facing some very significant charges,' Mr Ryan said. And back on the street before next weekend.
Blame inter generational trauma.
Don't they teach offensive driving, as well as defensive driving, any more? Those divvy vans would be fairly useless, but...
Whats the lesson here?
Nothing a “Voice to Parliament” won’t fix!
Man Aussie cops are an utter joke to every other police force.
GTA5 skills finally paying off.
Hard to fight mongrel kids when the law protects them and rules aid their behaviour
Chickens
Police have guns if they need to defend themselves.
Retreat, oh no no no time to send in the heavy unit and stop the madness.
You lot have a 3 tonne weapon, bloody use it
'Young offenders' just don't care anymore. They know that police and courts can't do anything to them so they're just getting more brazen. I've said it before and I'll say again. 'The courts must get tougher on offenders otherwise the community will!'
Maybe they need to arm themselves with heavier weapons and take the threat out before they are rammed
Time all police cars update to Tesla and sentry mode. Every other police force around the world have them time Australia catches up.
Queensland is getting lawless
these poor car thieving side swipers are oppressed victims we should give them more money, sympathize with there perceived needs, and give them a voice we must abstain from derogatory slurs like 'criminals' or 'offenders' rather they should be validated and praised!
Bring back public hangings.
