Marco Rubio takes aim at planned Michigan Ford battery plant using Chinese technology

here at home is much better than continuing to rely exclusively on foreign imports, like other auto companies do. A wholly owned Ford subsidiary alone will build, own and operate this plant. Rubio takes aim at planned Ford US battery plant using Chinese technologyU.S. Senator Marco Rubio on Thursday introduced legislation that takes aim at Ford Motor's deal to use technology from Chinese battery company CATL as part of the automaker's plan to spend $3.5 billion to build a battery plant in Michigan. Ultimately we should be striving for that to be US Tech, but especially not Chinese. Do like the Chinese. Steal the technology and make the product domestically. Funny..Rubio talks the same talking point as Xi..both are incredibly annoyed by this sharing of CATL battery technological expertise with Ford..but the difference is without Ford, CATL will still be world’s biggest battery maker but without CATL Ford won’t be able to scale up EVs
