Winnipeg police have found the body of a woman at a local landfill that has been at the centre of protests for months.A source told the Star police vehicles could be seen blocking off the entrance to the Brady landfill Tuesday. In June, police found the partial remains of Rebecca Contois, 24, at the same landfill.
Police have said they believe she was a victim of a serial killer, in addition to three other women: Morgan Harris, 39, Marcedes Myran, 26, an unidentified victim who police believe was an Indigenous woman in her 20s.Activists have been stationed at the landfill for months, urging police to search the site for other Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls.More to come.
