TransLink says work commissioned by the provincial government requires the closure for safety reasons. It includes soil densification, paving and relocation of the seismic warning system, which will be disconnected and must be done while there is no vehicle traffic on the bridge. TransLink is also doing work over the weekend including moving signs, painting lines, patching concrete and rope-assisted inspections of the overhead bridge truss.
The bridge will be closed from Thursday, April 6, at 10 p.m. until Tuesday, April 11, at 5 a.m. It will remain open to pedestrians, cyclists and first responders, but N19 NightBus service will be re-routed and travel time will be up to 30 minutes longer.For more about the Pattullo replacement project, go to
