The Biden administration gives California the green light to impose strict zero-emissions requirements on heavy-duty vehicles sold in the state.

Reaching the 100% target “is doable, especially for Workhorse,” Chambers said. “We have the manufacturing facility up and running [in Indiana]. We have vehicles available today, on the ground and ready to go.” Jason Chambers, regional sales manager for Workhorse, a company that manufactures electric-only commercial vehicles, inspects the drawers of the Workhorse W4 CC, a Class 4 work truck with variable cargo space. The trucking industry’s biggest trade group blasted the EPA decision.

“By granting California’s waiver for its so-called ‘advanced clean trucks’ rule, the EPA is handing over the keys as a national regulator,”. “This isn’t the United States of California, and in order to mollify a never satisfied fringe environmental lobby by allowing the state to proceed with these technologically infeasible rules on unworkable and unrealistic timelines, the EPA is sowing the ground for a future supply chain crisis.

States no longer look at voluntary purchase of an EV. Now it's we're shoving it down your throat. Just another freedom lost.

GavinNewsom Where will these be charged? We already are asked to reduce energy usage in California. The cost of food is bound to go up more and more due to these requirements. Guess who that impacts? the poorest residents in our state. hyprocrite

Every truck stop is going to require the power of a small city. Is California working on more power plants?

So so wrong to mandate. Let truckers choose when the time is right for them, instead of dictating. This panic to save the planet is outrageously costly and disruptive.

Tesla started to build electric semi trailers it is about 2 million each (I am thinking to buy one) They can build semi trailers electric that is 10 times more power then Diesel power The question is how often do we need to charge it

This will end in catastrophic failure. Everyday Americans will pay the price.

This isn't going to end well.

An EV truck gets about 230 miles per full charge. A diesel gets about 1000 miles per full tank. It takes around 15-20 minutes to fill up the tank. It takes between 2 and 10 hours to recharge an EV. This is wrong on all counts.

'The White House cleared the way March 31 for the Environmental Protection Agency to allow California to . . ' . . finish the destruction of CA's' citizens - their livelihoods - their existence.

First maybe fix your grid huh?

This will end well

Looks like no more bananas for Midwest.
