Traffic on southbound I-5 is still heavily backed up from Encinitas Boulevard north to Palomar Airport Road.

The incident left all the southbound lanes on the interstate blocked in the area for about one hour, Caltrans tweeted.Sign up for NBC San Diego newsletters.

The second lane from the left was reopened as of noon, but expect delays of over two hours if you're taking southbound I-5, according to Caltrans and Sigalert. As of 2:20 p.m., traffic is still heavily backed up from Encinitas Boulevard north to Palomar Airport Road.
