Several drivers are upset after they say their vehicles died on the road shortly after fuelling up at a Selkirk, Man., gas station this weekend.

A number of people posted about vehicle troubles on a local social media page Sunday night and Monday morning after they say they filled up at an Esso gas station at the corner of Main Street and Heap Avenue in the city about 30 km northeast of Winnipeg.

"I'm not at work today so I don't get paid," said Ashley Capner. "I can't go anywhere, I have to depend on somebody else that can hopefully pick up my son from school." He said he went to the gas station mid-afternoon Sunday and alerted them to the possibility that there could be something wrong with their fuel. He said he told them they should consider stopping the sale of gas at that time.

All Teslas, I'll wager.

Had it happen to me years ago in Nova Scotia. Turned out the service station got a load of bad gas. Had too much water in it. They drained the gas tank and filled it with new gas. Everything fixed.

Canada's transition to electric vehiclesThe federal government has set aggressive targets to increase the number of electric vehicles on our roads. Who the f*ck can afford an electric véhicule when families can’t afford groceries? Is that the same as forcing you to buy them ? Like the iPhones that add new software not compatible with phones that are only a few years old. Made to throw away, hoe does that do anything but change one problem to another? So how does a family that can’t afford food by a 60,000$ EV?

Ford Motor Co. to spend $1.8B in Oakville to produce electric vehiclesThe automaker says it will start retooling the Ontario complex in the second quarter of 2024 and being producing electric vehicles in 2025. Only $600 million in real taxpayers dollars going to this. Buying jobs positions Canada can't fill. I think electric cars are great for urban dwellers but I’ve got no use for them. If I want to drive from Chicago to Denver in the winter I don’t want to take 3 days to do it.
