MELAKA: Some 2,700 policemen will be on duty during the first two days of Hari Raya as Melaka police anticipate over 80,000 vehicles will be on roads in the state during the festive season.

State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah said some 48,390 vehicles are also expected to enter the state two days before Hari Raya.

"Only 10% of the contingent's 3,000-strong workforce will be allowed to go on leave," he said here after hosting a Buka Puasa event for the media on Monday night.They are: the Alor Gajah-Melaka-Jasin Highway; Jalan Umbai-Sungai Udang; Jalan Mufti Haji Khalil; Jalan Sungai Udang-Selandar; Batang Tiga/Bukit Rambai to Tanjung Minyak;
