and promised a tease was coming the following day. The company made good on that promise and released the first trailer for its upcoming TV series based on the video game franchise. It also revealed the shows July 27 premiere date on Peacock.
The trailer is quite brief, as it shows Anthony Mackie’s John Doe loading up his weapon and his music playlist before it cuts to a wider view of the world in ruin. It then ends on a tease of Sweet Tooth who lets out a Joker-like laugh. The show is based on a concept from Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who will executive produce. It will be written by Cobra Kai scribe Michael Jonathan Smith, who will also serve as an EP. Other executive producers include PlayStation Studios’ Hermen Hulst, Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions, Inspire Entertainment’s Jason Spire, Electric Avenue’s Will Arnett and Marc Forman, and Peter Principato of Artists First.
