A massive blaze erupted at an auction yard in Perth last night, with dozens of cars going up in flames. 9News

The fire started at Pickles Auctions in Bibra Lake, a suburb in Perth, about 5.15pm .

More than 70 cars are understood to have gone up in flames as the fire spread through the storage racks at the auction yard.Fire at car auction yard in Bibra Lake, Perth. Around ten fire crews arrived at the scene but their attempts to contain the blaze were thwarted as they struggled to get access to the yard.A smoke alert had been issued for people in northern parts of Bibra Lake but this has since been cancelled.

Authorities were concerned the structures holding the cars may crumble but it's not know what the final damage bill might be for the car yard, which opened in November 2015.Continue reading
