The collision resulted in Manchester Road being closed for several hours between Lomeshaye Road and Colne Road

Emergency services were called to Manchester Road in Nelson at around 2.30am today . The incident resulted in the road being closed for more than five hours between Lomeshaye Road and Colne Road.

Lancashire Police said they were called to reports of two collisions on Manchester Road. Both vehicles were travelling 'in convoy' and collided 'separately with the buildings'.Officers said the occupants of both vehicles fled the scene before one man was located nearby with a head injury. No other injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

A force spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called at around 2.30am to reports of two collisions on Manchester Road. It looks like two cars were in convoy and both have collided with buildings. "The vehicles’ occupants made off, however one man was located close to the scene with a head injury. No other injuries believed to have occurred."
