He is responsible for building and modifying the cars and motorcycles that so often steal the show in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. A big part of McCarthy's job is not only making sure the cars will work for the stunts but also the characters and story itself.

Isabel's Datsun 240Z Moving on from Rome McCarthy showed off three of the four cars that will be a part of the trademark four-car drag race. Starting with the yellow Datsun 240Z that Isabel drives. McCarthy explained that it is important to have a variety of cars, not just imports and muscle cars, so they can fit the car to the character.
