Administration told council that fine revenue from the program is expected to cover some of the costs, however Coun. Sonya Sharp said she had concerns about the lack of information about ongoing costs.The city’s chief bylaw officer Ryan Pleckaitis explained the team could augment traffic enforcement work that CPS already does.
Administration is proposing using Edmonton as a model, but allowing its program to be tested in court before fully following their lead.
