A manufacturing defect can cause loss of brake function in 2020 and newer models of the Honda Civic, Passport, Pilot, Ridgeline, and Acura MDX.

Four Honda models and one Acura are being recalled over a brake problem that is blamed on cylinder separation and could cause the brakes to fail.

Documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration state that as many as 124,077 vehicles could be affected.Honda and Acura have announced a recall affecting several models due to a brake issue that could compromise the strength or full use of the brakes. The recall encompasses the Honda Civic , Passport , Pilot , and Ridgeline and a single Acura model, the MDX .
