Yet another affordable wagon in Australia is dead. 7NEWS

“It’s a very deliberate decision to leave space within our dealerships, within our narrative to customers,” said Volkswagen Australia managing director Michael Szaniecki.

“It makes no sense to have Arteon, Passat, [and Golf Wagon] with ID.4, ID.3, ID.5,” Mr Szaniecki told CarExpert.Given the Passat and Arteon Shooting Brake have also been axed Down Under, you currently can’t order a new Volkswagen wagon in Australia. That may not be the case forever though, with the electric ID.7 Shooting Brake not ruled out for our market.

Volkswagen has offered a Golf wagon in Australia since 2010, when the Mk V wagon debuted. The Golf R wagon has been a fixture since the Mk 7 model launched in 2015.
