With more and more motorists switching to electric vehicles, the government is considering applying higher taxes to larger cars due to a €1.5 billion loss in revenue per year

It comes after €1.5 billion in lost revenue per year as more motorists are making the switch to electric vehicles.

The Tax Strategy Group papers were recently published which called attention to the EU proposals for the extension of electricity tax for residential customers. This is part of the possible options for replacing fossil fuel tax revenues. This grant is a government funded support scheme assisting residents and homeowners to install an electric vehicle charge point on their property.

The grant is open to homeowners to apply for a grant, whether they own an electric vehicle or not. This charge point can also be used for visitor use or at rented accommodation.
