A state police Ford Explorer was traveling behind an Oxford Emergency Squad Chevrolet Tahoe to the reported medical emergency with both vehicles’ emergency lights activated, according to police. The Oxford vehicle then stopped in the travel lane and attempted a U-turn, the police said; the state trooper was unable to avoid a collision and struck the rear of the EMS vehicle, then the guardrail.
