The highway in Franklin County reopened 10 hours after the head-on crash

The crash, which occurred at around 9 p.m., involved an RV and a tractor trailer. All occupants of both vehicles, as well as a dog, died in the crash, state police said.Donald, Kimberly, Miranda and Dane Molander were traveling south on I-81 in an RV that was towing an enclosed trailer, state police said.

James Shade, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, drove a tractor trailer hauling two trailers north on I-81. The RV’s front-left tire blew out, causing it to cross the grassy median, into the northbound lane, and collide head-on with Shade’s tractor trailer, police said.
