GM's Cruise driverless taxis caused a traffic jam in San Francisco when 10 of the autonomous vehicles were impacted by wireless bottlenecks.

"One of them was stopped at the top of the hill for no apparent reason," witness Valerie Jacobson toldThe mishap coincided with a music festival taking place in nearby Golden Gate Park. Cruise blamed the festival for interfering with network connections to the cars.

"A large festival posed wireless bandwidth constraints causing delayed connectivity to our vehicles. We are actively investigating and working on solutions to prevent this from happening again. We apologize to those who were impacted," said a statement put out by Cruise on social media.
