Couple of inaccuracies in your story 1 - a Toyota Prius is not fully electric and thus will attract BIK. 2 - if you bought a car in 2018 after 09/10/18 then the BIK ceiling of 50K applies. Actual dates for full BIK relief are 10/10/17 - 09/10/18.

If they really cared they would make these cars affordable without hidden taxes!! But no that would dip into the profits they make off taxing the petrol and diesel they sell to us!!! The government are riding you from the minute you wake up until you go to sleep!!!

Takes 10 years before you start to get the benefit from your electric car. This is due partially to high cost.Graphite mining often generates toxic fugitive dust and requires corrosive chemicals like hydrochloric acid to process it into a usable form.

Cheapest car on the list is 33k. At a conservative 20% depreciation for the first 3 years that is a loss in value of 15k on top of the repayments . Fine for businesses who can lease them and no BIK - but as an individual money 'saving' plan, it doesn't seem that good an idea.

When BMW, Mercedes and Audi convert fully, then its time to change! PS this is ireland, we will be light years behind when it does happen as usual. Can’t even surface our roads.

Abselout rubbish not enough charging points, hugely expensive when the batteries need to be replaced, not enough power.

More bullshit- Electric motors are way too expensive

Nonsense
