Ford Motor Company has made supercars before - like the Ford GT that took on Ferrari at Le Mans - and won. Now the automaker is taking the supercar recipe to its everyday Mustang pony car, featuring supercharged performance, and a supercar price of around $300,000.

Yeah, and with carbon fiber, that's cool, but what people won't know is the tech underneath it. And that is the essence. What we want to do is take the race car and then actually put stuff this band in racing, like the DRS system, and a lot of the traction and electronic stability control stuff that we won't be able to run and balance your performance on the street car so the street car can perform just like the race car, which is not something Europeans have actually done.

This competes in a different group of cars. I think those customers are actually different than our core customer. And I want to shift gears to electrification, if I may. We had your second quarter earnings come out recently. Another quarter of going underneath the hood there with the breaking of the business apart, showing really what's going on there. How is that transformation going right now for Ford?Well, net-net, we increased our guidance for the year-on-profit.

I learned so much from our sales people, from our pro customers. We have a lot of pro customers like the one I visited a wind farm that are now using electric vehicles. They said one of the most attractive thing is in Mojave, at 120 degrees, the AC works perfectly. Like it doesn't have to cool down like a normal ice car. I just learned a lot about the reality of what we're going through.

Eventually, we now have 550,000 subscribers for our software, 80% is our pro customers. So we need professional people who know how to build a software business, the profit and loss, but also the marketing. Do we charge BlueCruise when you use it, or subscription? You could argue both ways. I think it probably should be usage. When you get in the car and you use BlueCruise, maybe you should only pay when you use it.
