Storm Betty battered Ireland last night with strong winds and heavy rain - there have been reports of spot flooding in Cork, trees smashing into cars and hundreds are without electricity across the country

Storm Betty wreaked havoc across Ireland last night, with hundreds of households and business left without power this morning.

There could still be a number of fallen trees and debris across roads all over the country, so motorists are urged to drive with caution. There was another incident of a tree falling on a taxi in Bushy Park in Templeogue, but thankfully the driver was uninjured, according to RTÉ News.There were also two separate car collisions on the M50 last night.A yellow warning for rain and wind in still in place in Connacht, Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan until midday.It will remain windy at first with outbreaks of heavy or thundery rain, clearing northwards through the morning.
