I

Easy peasy. Brits should just stop buying Honda vehicles.

Very sad day for the people of Swindon.....and the British parliament is just standing idly by! British industry is tied up in the European economy and that reality will dawn at some stage on ideological driven politicians. Hopefully it won't be too late

If you listened to why they're closing you would realize Brexit is not the main factor. To try and blame people that found out today about job losses via the media on the way they voted is unacceptable. Brexit may be a minor factor but the victims of this closure are not to blame

Don't buy Honda.

Project fear and all that

do they also have AOC ?!?

To all those saying its the EU tariffs that's nonsense. UK will be out in a month, and they can see that, by your logic they would stay. It's our domestic knee-jerk policy on emissions and new import tariffs which will come into force that have caused this.

Karma!

For all F1 teams having their HQ in Britain, think across the North Sea - the Netherlands may be a very good option, two circuits at reasonable distance where ever you setup you Dutch location. Tax friendly and skilled English speaking people awaiting you.

Fake news

And in the end, Brexiters will take credit for the worst economic crisis in the U.K. since the '70s. Congratulations! And good luck...

What? Companies leaving the UK in light of Brexit? What’s next? Economical consequences and harshe times for the population? Who could have imagined such consequences? I’m baffled!

Fake news. Read the Honda press release.

The EU lifts tariffs on Japanese cars thus resulting in Honda etc to move production back to Japan. Putting British/European workers out of work. The Brussels elite couldn't give a shit about ordinary workers. Never did, never will.

Did 3500 Honda employees vote for brexit?

Get it right WSJ. Honda closing Swindon AND Turkey as result new diesel regulations in EC/EU.Not very Brexit related. VIP you get it right as knock effect of the ban hits many other euro industries. Also as Japanese focus on Hydrogen Fuel cell powered cars. And uninvest in Electric

Well maybe it's the Brexit but also because Japanese cars will have 0% custom soon in Europe?

When you know- Daimler AppleOne And meantime. ..Daimler plans to invest billions in electric battery production at Kamenz, Saxony, Stuttgart-Unterturkeim and even in Beijing. But Daimler Mercedes Benz Financial in Ft. Worth Texas won't invest in the American workforce.

Brexit had nothing to do w it as Honda clarified. They're closing their Turkish plant down as well and consolidating production in Japan. What the hell, do I have to tell YOU the news?

Punishment? Thanks abe

Most of these folks are contractors on 0 hour contracts the worst type of employment contract.

ALL automakers see hard time ahead not because of brexit but slowdown in CHINA .
