THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced on Wednesday that it has granted permits to a total of 4,202 'four-wheeled units' or school service vehicles nationwide. Of the number, 3,090 were issued to those in the National Capital Region (NCR).

LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz 3rd said there are protocols in place for school transport services that include proper markings, seat belts, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and Stop-and-Go signs for student drop-offs.'The advice of the LTFRB to parents is to choose school services with legitimate permits, as they follow the protocols set by the government, as mentioned. This is for the safety and protection of your children,' Guadiz added.

These agencies are the Department of Transportation , Metropolitan Manila Development Authority , Land Transportation Office , Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group , Inter-Agency Council for Traffic , Philippine Coast Guard , as well as the local governments of Quezon City and Manila.'Even before the opening of our public and private schools, the LTFRB and other government agencies held meetings in the middle of this month.
