There has been a spate of Bajaj Qute vehicles being vandalised in Johannesburg as other transport services operators are increasingly taking violent action against the new vehicles being used on the Bolt e-hailing platform.

Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane said on the morning of 7 September that no incidents had been reported to them, but they had seen the footage of Bajaj Qute vehicles being vandalised on social media.

"When it comes to the incidents we have seen on social media, they do come with a great concern, especially for the safety of people," Fihla said. Phala said the people who drive taxi patrol vehicles are often fleet management operators, not taxi drivers.A troubled launch
